That may involve interacting with suppliers or using the latest digital, analytics and forecasting tools to determine exactly how many units are needed in specific timeframes, locations and configurations.

In your role as Supply Chain Planning Manager at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for Batam facility performance levels to corporate targets for inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order‑to‑delivery results. You will lead facility efforts to develop and implement the Plan for Every Part, Pull material Replenishment and improved throughput efficiency.

You will bring impact to facility by achieving corporate supply chain performance targets, including improvements in Order‑to‑Delivery time, inventory levels/turns, MQ Certification requirements and supply chain assessments for Batam facility.

As the Supply Chain Planning Manager, you will:
  • Manage 5+ direct reports including Supply Chain Planning Analysts, Supply Chain Planning Engineer and Logistics Planning Engineers. You will be responsible for a team that is performing work to achieve corporate supply chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order‑to‑delivery results.
  • Coordinate and manage a performance portfolio for multiple, cross‑functional work teams deploying the Supply Chain Planning Process, which develops the Plan for Every Part and Pull Replenishment method for Batam facility.
  • Develop and implement Batam Facility warehouse operational strategies, including layout, automation, and capacity planning. Design distribution network strategies to optimize cost, speed, and reliability. Establish performance metrics (KPIs) for warehouse operations and network efficiency.
  • Design and manage the end‑to‑end flow of materials from suppliers to customers. Implement inventory strategies (safety stock, reorder points, ABC analysis) to optimize working capital. Oversee demand planning, supply planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. Manage replenishment strategies and lead initiatives to reduce lead times and improve flow efficiency.
  • Lead Warehouse Transformation Project which covers warehouse automation project and storage capacity planning and constraint analysis across the supply chain.
  • Support facility efforts and collaborate with teams to design and implement material packaging working orders and containerization solutions for a facility to make sure 100% adherence to PPAP. You may work collaboratively with external and internal suppliers, Supply Chain Performance Engineers, and Operations.
  • Take a facility‑wide view of supply chain planning processes and tools, as well as thorough knowledge of pull material strategies and their application, to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams across functions and divisions.
  • Collaborate team efforts to gather and analyze data on facility demand and demand variability for each part required for production based on daily demand buckets for 120 workdays. You will manage team efforts to gather and analyze data about supplier shipping performance and variability % for each part number (both Time and Qty) and organize team efforts to develop material flow plans for all material coming into a facility for production. You will use part plan data from the Plan for Every Part web tool to drive flow and velocity improvements in the plant, and be responsible for the work of Supply Chain Planning Analysts in documenting this data into the Plan for Every Part web tool.
  • Support facility efforts to implement pull material replenishment where appropriate by managing pull deployment teams. This work requires knowledge of complex lean concepts and tools.
  • Support facility efforts and coordinate teams to ensure NPI and Engineering / Change Control process conformance. You will require cross‑functional work team cooperation skills and communication.
  • Manage cross‑functional teams to achieve MQ or other similar facility certifications. Works with diverse, multi‑functional work teams to drive improvements required to meet certification requirements.
  • Manage cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve supply chain constraints, coordinating teams to deploy solutions using root‑cause corrective action.
The successful candidate must bring:
  • Proficiency in English is required; local site language preferred.
  • University degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight to ten years progressively responsible supply chain job experience.
  • Experience and proficiency with SAP.
  • Experience in the development and deployment of Supply Chain processes.
Top candidates will also bring:
  • Expertise in ERP systems and advanced planning tools. Has strong digital skills (PBI, Power Apps, etc.)
  • Warehouse transformation experience, especially on warehouse automation.
  • PFEMP, Packaging solutions experience.
  • Experience and knowledge lean supply chain principles, specifically those applied to pull replenishment using material replenishment tools and processes, material flow, packaging and containerization, the corporate NPI (New Product Introduction) process, facility product and engineering change control processes and throughput efficiency.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience deploying using 6 Sigma Project Management principles.
  • Must possess excellent leadership skills to effectively lead supply chain improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining strong people focus and fulfilling the responsibilities for managing people.
  • Must have advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve very complex problems.
  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired.

Domestic relocation is available for this position.
