Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Oversee daily purchasing activities.
- Source and manage local suppliers for quality, price, availability, and cost improvements.
- Support global sourcing with local implementation.
- Establish agreements and price lists with local vendors.
- Keep sourcing and vendor data up to date
Logistics & Warehouse Management
- Manage transportation, forwarding, and local warehouse operations.
- Select logistics service providers.
- Ensure compliance with import/export requirements.
Procurement Engineering & Item Management
- Manage item-level data in Baan.
- Provide engineering support for purchasing needs.
Performance, Cost & KPI Monitoring
- Track and report supply chain costs and lead‑times.
- Monitor on‑time performance for inbound/outbound flows.
- Report KPIs and ensure alignment with global standards.
Team & Communication Management
- Lead corrective actions for process issues.
- Ensure team readiness and task clarity.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and development planning.
- Report monthly performance to area managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering or related field; with a Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of operational experience for managing supply chain operations
- Expert in Supply Chain operations for all relevant areas
- Ability to quickly gain a deep understanding of business processes and products
- Excellent skills in English, both written and verbal
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems with experience with LN & Baan and Valmet reporting tools a plus. Normal windows applications.
- Understanding of Valmet sourcing processes is preferred.
- Proven ability to implement strategies, develop networks and build teams
- Superior leadership, communication and relationship management skills
- Strong influencing skills across organizations and cultural boundaries
- Ability to travel
