The Supervisor, Maintenance & Utility is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all facility and utility systems, including building, electrical power equipment, air compressors, vacuum pumps, dust collectors, and supporting civil works.
The incumbent will lead and supervise the maintenance and utility team, manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and collaborate with production and other departments to ensure high equipment availability, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for facility, utility, and building systems.
- Ensure timely troubleshooting and resolution of breakdowns to minimize downtime and production impact.
- Oversee maintenance of air compressors, vacuum pumps, dust collectors, HVAC systems, and electrical power equipment.
- Lead, assign, and monitor daily tasks of the maintenance and utility team including operator.
- Train and mentor technicians, ensuring skills development and compliance with SOPs.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within the team.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring annual maintenance and utility budgets.
- Control maintenance expenditures and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for maintenance-related projects and service contracts.
- Monitor utility consumption (electricity, air, water, gas) and identify opportunities for reduction.
- Implement energy-saving initiatives and propose efficiency improvement projects.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to support productivity and process improvements.
- Provide regular maintenance performance reports, including downtime analysis, energy usage, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Take ownership of projects assigned by the Factory GM or HQ Management on a project basis.
REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum Experience in Maintenance and Utility more than 3 years as Supervisor / Leader.
- Professional accreditation with an industry related body would be advantageous.
- Advanced Microsoft user to include Project and Excel software.
- Experience in creating project plans in Microsoft Project.
- Understanding of legislation and standards.
