We are a small, family‑run retreat business offering high‑end, evidence‑based compassion and contemplation retreats in beautiful locations such as Bali and the Mediterranean. Our audience is primarily females 30–55 who are reflective, well‑read, spiritually curious, and who value depth, aesthetics and integrity over clichéd wellness marketing. We are currently working with a strategist to finalize our Instagram strategy and are now looking for someone to help us bring it to life, consistently and thoughtfully.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a part‑time Instagram Content & Community Manager to execute and refine an emerging strategy over an initial 3‑month period (approximately 3 days per week), with the possibility of ongoing work if it’s a good fit.
You will work closely with us (the founders) and our strategy manager to:
- Turn our strategy, content pillars and brand voice into high‑quality posts and stories.
- Help us build a sustainable, engaged community, not just chase quick wins.
- Support day‑to‑day posting, engagement and basic reporting, escalating anything sensitive or complex to us.
What You’ll Be Working With
During the first weeks of the project we will share:
- A 3–6 month Instagram strategy (content pillars, posting cadence, funnel), currently in development.
- A brand voice and caption guide (tone, example captions, do’s/don’ts).
- Access to a library of images and videos (retreats, locations, portraits, etc.).
- Guidance on sensitive topics (mental health, self‑compassion, trauma awareness).
- Your craft will be to translate this into thoughtful, consistent execution and to offer grounded suggestions as we learn what works.
Scope of Work (3 months, ~3 days/week)
Create and “bank” content in line with the agreed strategy and calendar:
- Posts (static + carousels)
- Stories (simple, on‑brand updates)
- Occasional Reels (if this is a strength, even better)
- Use images and video from our library plus carefully sourced additional visuals (with clear rights/credits).
- Draft captions based on our voice guide and send batches to us for review.
- Once approved, schedule and post content using agreed tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Later, etc.).
- Monitor comments and DMs regularly (within agreed time windows).
- Respond to straightforward comments/DMs in our tone and style.
- Escalate sensitive, complex or personal messages to us with suggested responses.
- Help us build and maintain warm, respectful relationships with followers, partners and aligned accounts.
- Identify where new content (photos, short videos, quotes, etc.) would strengthen the feed.
- Suggest simple content ideas we can shoot or record.
- Coordinate with us to receive new assets in an organised way (e.g. shared folders).
Implementation of Growth Tactics
Apply the agreed hashtag/keyword strategy and refine as we learn what works.
Support gentle, genuine growth tactics, such as:
- Thoughtful comments and engagement with aligned accounts.
- Sharing or suggesting collaborations (e.g. facilitators, venues, local partners).
Always favor authenticity and quality over shortcuts or spammy tactics.
Tracking, Learning & Simple Reporting
- Provide a brief monthly review meeting with us to reflect on what’s working and what’s not.
- Work with us to refine the strategy based on what we learn.

We’re looking for someone reliable, organised and communicative, who enjoys a gentle, reflective brand rather than a high‑volume “churn and burn” environment.
Ideal Freelancer Profile
You might be a good fit if you:
- Have hands‑on experience managing Instagram for retreats, wellness, travel, hospitality or similar experience‑driven brands.
- Write beautiful, clear English with a reflective, warm, non‑pushy tone.
- Enjoy translating a strategy into coherent, aesthetic, on‑brand content.
- Are comfortable with light analytics and can explain your thinking.
- Are organised with time and communication and happy to work 3 days per week.
- We especially welcome applications from people based in Bali, given our strong connection to the region. However, we are open to applicants from elsewhere who resonate with our work and style.
