Social Assessment Officer (FPIC Specialist)

The responsibilities involve conducting, monitoring, and reviewing Social Impact Assessment (SIA) surveys, including primary and secondary data collection, evaluation, and management planning. This also includes public consultation and implementing the Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) process as per RSPO standards. Additionally, tasks encompass land tenure studies, participatory mapping, and providing recommendations for audit findings related to SIA and FPIC.

  • Implementation of land tenure study to ensure of lands ownership, land tenure system and land dispute mechanism
  • Participatory Mapping; facilitating villages through participatory process to produce a map and village profile. Map will describe village border, land ownership, infrastructure and spatial. Profiles consist of village history and culture, demography, potential economy and natural resources
  • Follow up and provide recommendation for audit finding about SIA and FPIC throughout the PSM

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Social/Political/Anthropology Studies or equivalent.
  • At least 2-3 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably have insight related to Palm Oil Industry, Social Training, Sustainability Training, etc.
  • Have a good knowledge and experience in social approach i.e FPIC, SIA and PM
  • Strong analysis for project budgeting (Pre and Post Project)
  • Have a good soft skill for engagement to community and reporting
  • Able to prepare and implement project management (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation) and working in a team
  • Willing to go on a business trip as needed
  • Must be fluent in English
