Job description

Monroe Consulting Group is looking for a Payroll Subject Matter Expert on behalf of our client, an HR Tech Solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic lead and thought partner on all payroll matters, both internally and client-facing
  • Drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of end-to-end payroll services and solutions
  • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Act as the trusted advisor for C-level clients on complex payroll structures, including expatriate payroll, variable pay, and multi-entity arrangements
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product, tech, compliance, and service delivery teams
  • Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory engagements
  • Contribute to product innovation and go-to-market strategies in the payroll domain
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of payroll professionals, consultants, and support staff
Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in payroll, with at least 5 years in a leadership or country-level role
  • Deep expertise in local payroll laws, statutory reporting, and best practices
  • Experience working in or with tech-driven payroll or HRIS platforms
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders, regulators, and enterprise clients
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Background in HR, Finance, or Compliance preferred
  • Experience in a regional or multi-country payroll setup is a plus
