Job summary

Our client in the Leisure & Sports sector seeks a Senior Sports Analytics Consultant for a fully remote role. You will design models, analyze diverse sports data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders across coaching, management, and marketing teams.

You will lead analytics initiatives, mentor junior staff, and stay ahead of new techniques in ML and data visualization to boost fan engagement, attendance, and revenue forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Sports Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sports analytics, data science, or a similar analytical role.
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced analytical models to assess player performance, team strategies, and game outcomes.
• Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sports sources, including performance trackers, scouting reports, and fan interaction data.
• Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders, including coaching staff, management, and marketing teams.
• Identify key trends and patterns in sports data to provide strategic recommendations for player recruitment, training regimens, and game-day tactics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish benchmarks for success.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in sports analytics, machine learning, and data science methodologies.
• Contribute to the development of predictive models for fan engagement, attendance, and revenue forecasting.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the overall growth of the analytics practice within the organization.
