Job summary

ShopBack Group is seeking a Software Engineer in Test (SET/SDET) to join our engineering team in Jakarta. You will develop automated test frameworks, write test scripts, and manage manual testing to ensure world-class software quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a SET, software engineer, test automation engineer, or QA engineer.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, Cypress, Jenkins, and other modern test automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps integration for test automation.
• Experience with Generative AI tools to improve workflows and productivity.
• Experience in mobile and web application testing is highly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer in Test (SET/SDET) to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring the world-class quality of our software applications by developing automated test frameworks, scripts, and tools, creating test cases, and managing manual test processes. You will also get to work on CI/CD pipeline to improve product quality via automation.

• Evaluate product requirements, define testing strategies, manage test plans/cases to ensure robust coverage, and identify test automation opportunities early in the development
• Improve and integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing and faster feedback loops
• Prepare and set up test environments including data generation, validation, and the development of testing tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, QA, tech support, and customer service to ensure software meets the highest standards of quality, and streamline the workflow with automation

Essentials to Succeed

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience as a SET, software engineer, test automation engineer, or QA engineer.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with various automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, Cypress, Jenkins, and other modern test automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices and how test automation fits within DevOps pipelines.
• Demonstrated use of Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude) to develop new or improve workflows, enhance productivity, and drive efficiency at scale.
• Experience in mobile (iOS and Android) and web application testing is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of performance and load testing is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Candidates must possess strong expertise in at least one of the following core areas

• Performance and Load Testing – Proficiency with tools such as JMeter, Locust, or equivalent frameworks; hands-on experience in load test environment setup, test design, and performance bottleneck analysis is highly valued.
• CI/CD and DevOps Automation – Deep experience with Jenkins, including pipeline scripting, plugin-level customization, and strong capability in monitoring production data quality and observability tooling to ensure reliable continuous delivery.
• Test Tools and Framework Development – Solid full-stack development capabilities, including front-end proficiency in Vue / JavaScript, and back-end expertise in Python with Flask or Django; capable of building internal testing tools, dashboards, or automation frameworks from scratch.
