Senior Network Security Engineer

Location: Jakarta

Job Summary

A Network Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the day‑to‑day support and maintenance of network and core services. Cloud network engineers also select the best cloud expertise and scale cloud services to meet increasing business demands.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot network customer problems.
• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment and services.
• Document and publish technical reports on work performed.
• Consult with customers to discover growth strategies.
• Resolve network issues and monitor performance and utilization.
• Analyze customer needs, provide solutions and recommendations.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Monitor network, collaboration, and security devices.
• Provide responsive technical services.
• Support company’s network installation and operation under the CTO.
• Support VSAT engineering to design customer networks.
• Research and implement network solutions.
• Maintain network devices and infrastructure.
• Implement improvements to prevent recurring problems.
• Ensure network functions properly through regular checks.
• Document installations, configurations, research, and issues.
• Review and enhance network security aspects.
• Remediate tickets related to network performance and service degradation.
• Notify users via email or intranet about incidents.
• Maintain Fortinet firewalls and Cisco communication servers.
• Maintain Avaya PBX and ensure VoIP QoS.
• Verify infrastructure status to stay within limits.
• Create incident tickets and assign to concerned parties.
• Collect acknowledgements from parties.
• Respond to monitoring alerts, create tickets, and perform level‑1 analysis.
• Prepare incident reports immediately after troubleshooting.
• Escalate incident reports per SLA.
• Monitor server and network availability using tools such as SolarWinds.
• Proactively raise incidents/problems into operational service desk.
• Provide risk or advice for pre‑implementation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–5 years of experience in system integration, cloud provider, or IT managed services.
• Deep knowledge of network routing, switching, security, wireless, VPN, and SD‑WAN.
• Hands‑on experience with CISCO, Ruckus, Huawei, Fortinet, Mikrotik, Juniper, and other vendors.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VLAN, VPN, and other protocols.
• Knowledge of network security practices and vulnerability handling.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet, etc. are preferred.
• Experience in Network Operations Center (NOC) and incident management.
• Project management experience and proactive approach.
• Diploma‑3 in Computer Science or related field (acceptable for some roles).
