Senior Manager, Country HR (Based in Indonesia, Palembang)

We are looking for a Country HR Manager to be based in Palembang, Indonesia. The incumbent will oversee the full spectrum of human resources functions for our companies in Indonesia. He/she will be responsible for providing HR leadership, ensuring compliance with Indonesian employment regulations, and driving HR initiatives aligned with the Group’s overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Leadership & Strategy: Oversee the HR function across all entities in Indonesia, ensuring alignment with group HR policies and local regulations. Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession management. Lead cultural integration and change management initiatives within the country.
- Talent Management: Oversee recruitment and selection processes to ensure timely hiring of qualified candidates. Develop and oversee learning and development initiatives to strengthen organizational capabilities. Manage performance management frameworks, ensuring clarity of KPIs and effective evaluation processes.
- Employee Relations & Engagement: Oversee employee engagement programs to promote a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace. Advise on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies. Manage grievance and disciplinary processes in accordance with Indonesian labor law. Together with the Industrial Relations department, lead the team in resolving and/or conducting negotiations with the Labor Union or the Government in the event of labor disputes.
- Compensation, Benefits & Payroll: Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with statutory requirements. Manage payroll operations and statutory reporting for all Indonesian entities. Provide market insights to Group HR on salary structures and incentive frameworks.
- Compliance & HR Operations: Oversee HR administration, employee records, and contract management. Ensure compliance with Indonesian employment laws, labor regulations, and government reporting requirements. Coordinate with legal and external authorities on HR-related statutory matters. Work closely with Group HR to implement global policies and systems in Indonesia. Provide country-specific insights to support group-wide HR initiatives and strategic decision-making. Ensure harmonization of HR practices across the group while accommodating local needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, GPHR) is an advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role in Indonesia.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian labor laws, HR best practices, and market trends.
- Proven track record in managing HR functions within multinational or group company structures.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Language proficiency in Mandarin and English is required (both spoken and written for correspondence with China headquarters), ability to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia would be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple priorities.
