Overview

As the Senior Legal, you will play a key role in ensuring that Jago Coffee operates in full compliance with Indonesian laws while maintaining strong, positive relationships with government institutions and regulators. You will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team—providing legal insights, managing permits and licenses, overseeing government-related matters, and representing the company in external engagements. The ideal candidate combines a strong foundation in corporate and administrative law with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the company’s main liaison with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth business operations and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Oversee and manage all legal aspects related to permits, licenses, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring timely renewals and submissions.
• Provide strategic legal and regulatory advice to management and internal departments to support the company’s business goals while minimizing legal and compliance risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to government relations, partnerships, and commercial activities.
• Monitor and analyze new and upcoming laws or government policies that may impact the company, and proactively advise relevant teams on necessary adjustments or advocacy strategies.
• Represent the company in discussions, meetings, or hearings with authorities, ensuring Jago Coffee’s interests are well communicated and protected.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align on compliance standards and ensure all operations meet regulatory expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate legal or government relations role, preferably within a dynamic and fast-growing organization.
• Strong understanding of Indonesian laws, regulations, and bureaucratic processes related to business operations, permits, and compliance.
• Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with government agencies and regulatory institutions.
• Skilled in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of legal and commercial agreements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes with sound judgment.
