A leading oil and gas company in Indonesia is seeking a Geophysical Engineer to review exploration activities, provide geophysical support, and maintain geological databases. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science, at least 10 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, and strong analytical skills. This role involves significant collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure quality and timely report submissions.

Job description

JOB ROLES:

• Review and assess all explorations activities in INPEX Indonesia nonoperator assets (including Sebuku and Serpang) based on geological aspect; Analyze, evaluate and provide recommendation based on geological expertise and knowledge (data acquisition processing, interpretation and related analysis) in order to increase explorations performances as per agreed explorations target and solve issues related to geological and geophysical technical aspect.


• Compile data and prepare analysis/report on geological and geophysical data for strategic meeting with Business Partners of INPEX Indonesia non-operator assets; Provide geological and geophysical expertise and knowledge to review and assess explorations activities and plans in the strategic meeting; Prepare, monitor and coordinate information, data and documents related to geological aspect in order to obtain approval from SKK Migas and Government Institutions; Prepare, monitor and coordinate required approval status from SKK Migas and other Government Institutions; to ensure meeting process and mandatory approval in line with target.


• Provide geophysical aspect supports (geophysical field operation, seismic processing, structure interpretation and quantitative seismic evaluation) for INPEX Indonesia operators and non-operator assets based on proposal, request or need; Coordinate with other expertise within department in analyzing blocks operators of INPEX Indonesia's non-operator assets ensure technical support implementation meets engineering quality and standard.


• Provide recommendations, expertise and knowledge in generating report of explorations activities in the INPEX Indonesia's non-operator assets related to geological and geophysical technical aspects; Coordinate and communicate with Tokyo Head Quarters, SKK MIGAS, Business Partners, and INPEX Management; to ensure all reports and provided data and information are valid and update and submitted within the timeframe.


• Review and assess technical aspects of the prospective business partners’ assets: Provide geological and geophysical expertise and knowledge on investment opportunity or new venture acquisition; to provide reliable assets assessment as a basis of taking decision.


• Develop and maintain Geoscience database (log, report, well data, core) to support non-operatorship and operatorship INPEX interests as well as sourcing opportunities for new exploration and development assets in Indonesia to ensure data and information in database valid and update.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science (Geophysics Engineering).


• A minimum of 10 years working experience that preferable in oil and gas industry.
