Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Sr. Technician to join our engineering team.

The role focuses on assembling, testing, and inspecting gas turbine components to ensure quality and safety, with independent work on complex tasks and guidance to junior technicians where needed. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in gas turbine welding or high-temperature alloy welding, a certified GTAW/TIG in 2G plate, and strong ability to read engineering drawings and repair manuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in gas turbine component welding or welding of high‑temperature alloys.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with PT/FPI methods and coating repair processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform crack removal, welding, and blending repairs on gas turbine components, including combustion parts and HGP components.
• Carry out component assembly and disassembly activities.
• Perform fixture inspection and verification to ensure setup and alignment.
• Execute brazing repair processes.
• Install and repair honeycomb seals on turbine components.
• Perform aluminide diffusion coating activities.
• Operate vacuum furnace equipment for heat treatment processes.
• Conduct dimensional inspections to verify engineering specs.
• Perform Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT/FPI) before and after repair processes.
