Job summary

A leading automation company in Jakarta Timur is seeking an Automation Engineer to design and deploy IIoT systems, integrating PLCs and industrial sensors. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields and has 3-5 years of experience with PLCs. Job description

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy IIoT systems by integrating PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), industrial sensors, and control systems to enable real-time data collection and remote monitoring.
• Build and maintain automation workflows using Node-RED to connect industrial devices, process data, and interface with cloud or on-premises systems.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and industrial automation equipment, ensuring smooth integration with SCADA, IC​S, and IIoT platforms.
• Apply strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT) for seamless device connectivity and data transmission across automation layers.
• Lead or support end-to-end implementation of digitalization projects, working closely with operations, IT, and engineering teams to meet project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience working with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or equivalent) and industrial automation systems.
• Proficient in Node-RED and experience in building automation flows.
• Experience with IIoT platforms, data analytics, and cloud-based systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT) and familiarity with SCADA systems and Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and documentation skills.
