Job summary

Quona Capital is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team in Indonesia. You will develop ML/AI solutions to mine data for insights, build predictive models, and improve consumer lending effectiveness.

You will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and advance financial inclusion in the region.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative field with strong analytics grounding.
• At least 3 years in data science and production ML.
• Experience in fintech, banking, lending, or related area preferred.
• Fluency in Python and SQL; data viz skills required.
• Ability to translate business problems into data solutions.
• Strong communication for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and monitor ML models for customer behavior and credit risk.
• Use predictive analytics to manage credit risk and growth.
• Design and run A/B experiments with proper statistical methods.
• Create production-level data pipelines (DBT a plus).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data products.

Job description

We are looking for a passionate Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team. You will play a critical role in developing our ML/AI solutions to mine data for insights, build predictive models, and improve the overall effectiveness of our consumer lending processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, monitor, and maintain machine learning and statistical models to understand and predict customer behavior and credit risk.
• Use predictive modeling and analytics to manage credit risk and optimize growth in various business domains, including risk management, fraud prevention, marketing, customer experience, and collections.
• Design and execute A/B experiments with proper statistical test and analysis.
• Ability to create reusable production level end-to-end data pipeline to generate features using DBT is a plus.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business problems into actionable data-driven solutions.
• Work closely with the leadership team to design data products to achieve business objectives, supporting new product development and enhancing customer experience.
• Collaborate and initiate innovative data science projects to advance financial inclusion.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a data science role and managing machine learning models in production, ideally in fintech, banking, lending, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, predictive modeling, clustering, classification, and optimization algorithms.
• Fluency in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Metabase, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of financial and lending industry concepts and regulatory environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, combined with strong business acumen.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex data, context, and implications to non-technical stakeholders.
