Job summary

AMK Technology in Jakarta, Indonesia seeks an experienced Data Engineer on a renewable contract to design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines and ETL workflows. You will work with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, reliable data delivery.

Responsibilities include real-time streaming with Kafka, orchestration with Airflow, and managing Iceberg and Parquet in modern data lake environments. Indonesian residency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field.
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional Data Engineering experience with end-to-end pipelines.
• Strong hands-on in building and scaling ETL/data ingestion pipelines.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and NoSQL design, querying, and optimization.
• Proven expertise in Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• Deep experience with Kafka for real-time streaming and messaging.
• Familiarity with Parquet and Iceberg in modern data lakes.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Develop scalable data integration processes from diverse sources.
• Configure, monitor, and manage workflow orchestration using Airflow.
• Implement real-time streaming with Kafka and event-driven data pipelines.
• Manage data lake storage formats and optimize Parquet usage.
• Administer data lakehouse technologies, specifically Iceberg.
• Write and tune SQL and NoSQL schemas for fast data retrieval.
• Troubleshoot bottlenecks with root-cause analysis in pipelines.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, and software teams in Jakarta.
• Document architecture and governance runbooks.
