Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Consulting Engineer in EMEA.

In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise customers, driving successful implementations, migrations, and performance optimization for complex data environments. You will blend hands‑on engineering with consultative expertise, supporting strategic accounts while contributing to technical content, best practices, and internal knowledge sharing. This position offers broad exposure across architecture, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and real‑time analytics. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, guide customers through critical deployment phases, and support high‑impact projects across the region. This is a dynamic, customer‑facing role suited for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Accountabilities
  • Deliver project‑based engineering and consulting support, including architecture design, integration, implementation, benchmarking, testing, migration, and solution documentation.
  • Provide case‑driven consultative support to strategic users and customers during onboarding, production launches, and Proofs of Concept.
  • Offer technical oversight across architectural, operational, and migration activities, including hands‑on engineering tasks when needed.
  • Support L1–L3 support cases when not assigned to larger projects, ensuring timely and high‑quality communication.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales teams to influence the product roadmap and contribute to account strategies.
  • Create and enhance documentation, knowledge base articles, reference architectures, learning materials, and benchmarking insights.
  • Contribute to team growth through hiring, onboarding, and mentoring new colleagues.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and support scheduling requirements within a global, distributed environment, with up to 35 percent regional travel.
Requirements
  • 5 plus years of experience in Professional Services, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, Support, or Project Management roles.
  • Strong background in scalable, fault‑tolerant, distributed database management systems and experience implementing or operating such platforms.
  • In‑depth technical knowledge of DBMS, OLAP systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, distributed systems engineering, and big data technologies.
  • Proven success leading complex technical projects involving multiple senior engineers.
  • Hands‑on experience with public cloud infrastructure and compute services.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer orientation, and the ability to collaborate across globally distributed teams.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with ClickHouse, open‑source technologies, big data pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, RabbitMQ), and experience contributing to open‑source communities.
  • A mindset of continuous learning, curiosity, teamwork, and a passion for solving challenging technical problems at scale.
