Job summary

Salis Investama seeks an experienced backend engineer to lead production-grade systems. You will design APIs and data models using PHP Laravel or Node.js on PostgreSQL. You will review PRs, break work into tasks, and ensure secure coding while collaborating with stakeholders.

You may deputise for the Technical Lead in client meetings and decisions. The role requires 6+ years in backend development, with strong PostgreSQL/MySQL skills, and familiarity with AWS and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production backend systems with PHP Laravel and/or Node.js.
• Strong database design and SQL on PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Experience reviewing code and leading a team or workstream.
• Familiar with Git workflows, CI/CD, and AWS DevOps.
• Secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10) and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve contract engineers' PRs before staging/production.
• Break features into tasks, estimate effort, and track delivery against plan.
• Design and build backend services and APIs in PHP Laravel or Node.js on PostgreSQL, owning data model and migrations.
• Deputise for the Technical Lead in client meetings, stand-ups, and technical decisions.
• Maintain CI/CD, automated tests, and deployment standards on AWS with DevOps.
• Apply security and audit requirements for regulated clients, and write technical handover notes.

Job description

• 6+ years building production backend systems with strong PHP (Laravel) and/or Node.js.
• Solid relational database design and SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL), including performance tuning.
• Experience reviewing code and leading a small team or workstream, able to cover for the Technical Lead at short notice.
• Comfortable with Git workflows, CI/CD, and cloud deployment (AWS preferred).
• Good grasp of secure coding (OWASP Top 10) and personal data handling.
• OJK-regulated industry experience (insurance, banking, lending), React, ISO 27001/pentest remediation, Docker and IaC, message queues and object storage, NoSQL, and real-time streaming (WebSockets, Kafka).
• Fluent in English (Prefer Mandarin Chinese as plus).
