A game development company in Jakarta is seeking a Senior/Intermediate Animator to create expressive animations for characters and environments. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience in game animation, strong skills in Maya and Unity, and a portfolio showcasing stylized animation work. This role involves animating character actions and integrating animations into the game, ensuring a polished, responsive gameplay experience.
We’re looking for an Senior/Intermediate Animator to bring our hero characters and environments to life through expressive, high-impact animation. You’ll work closely with the Art and Development teams to create stylized movement that enhances both player control and moment-to-moment excitement.
Your work will play a major role in communicating power, character personality, and gameplay feedback—all within a bold and exaggerated streetball-inspired art style.
Rig and skin characters, props, and environment assets for animation and gameplay use.
Animate a wide range of character actions including movement, dribbling, dunks, abilities, ultimates, taunts, and victory poses.
Collaborate with character artists to ensure models are optimized and ready for rigging and animation.
Work with designers and developers to integrate animations into Unity and ensure they feel responsive and polished in-game.
Build and maintain dynamic animation systems, blend trees, and transitions that support fluid, responsive gameplay.
Animate stylized crowd reactions, environment elements, and cinematic replays to heighten match intensity and hype moments.
Iterate quickly based on feedback from playtests and creative reviews.
Maintain clean rigs, animation files, and naming conventions for efficient production.
4+ years of experience animating for games, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong stylized or exaggerated animation work.
Proficiency in animation software (e.g., Maya, Blender) and strong understanding of animation fundamentals.
Experience implementing animations in Unity using Animator Controllers or equivalent systems.
Strong sense of timing, weight, and pose-to-pose movement for gameplay-driven animation.
Ability to animate expressive facial and body language that communicates character identity.
Familiarity with gameplay systems like hit reactions, movement cycles, or ability telegraphs.
Bonus: Experience with mocap cleanup or cinematic animation for highlight replays.
