School Headmaster will be the architect of school IB continuum, ensuring pedagogical excellence, curricular coherence, and a seamless learning journey for all students. School Headmaster will directly lead the PYP and MYP Principals, fostering a collaborative culture dedicated to the Genesis Global Community School. School Headmaster will uphold teaching excellence, serve as the key academic representative to families and the community, and oversee student life.
This role is the cornerstone of academic mission, responsible for providing unified leadership across our Primary and Middle Years Programmes and future Diploma programs.
Academic Leadership and Programme Continuum Development
- Provide overarching pedagogical leadership across the PYP and MYP, ensuring alignment with the IB philosophy and the Genesis vision.
- Lead the development, implementation, and regular review of a vertically and horizontally aligned curriculum across all grade levels.
- Embed the IB Learner Profile as the foundation for student development and school culture.
- Oversee policies and quality assurances.
- Review and sign off on student progress reports to ensure academic rigor and consistency across grade levels and divisions.
- Lead the future preparation for the Diploma program authorization process.
Student Life
- Serve as the final authority in student behavior, conduct, and disciplinary matters, upholding the school’s values and policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor a school-wide framework for student well‑being, including values-based education and restorative practices.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful school culture where every student feels a sense of belonging and safety.
- Oversee events, assemblies, and programs to enhance student experiences.
Unification and Collaborative Culture
- Serve as the direct line manager and instructional coach for the PYP and MYP Principals, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing leadership team.
- Ensure effective communication, shared practices, and a unified school identity across grade levels and divisions.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a seamless transition process for students moving from PYP to MYP and MYP to DP.
- Model professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Curriculum and Instructional Excellence
- Oversee curriculum mapping and drive the implementation of concept‑based, inquiry‑driven learning throughout the school.
- Oversee the development of robust assessment models that aligns with IB approaches to teaching and learning.
- Lead the analysis of student achievement data to inform instructional decisions and strategic planning.
Faculty Growth and Professional Development
- Identify school‑wide professional development needs and design a comprehensive PD plan focused on the IB continuum and growth.
- Coach and mentor instructional leaders and teachers to achieve the highest standards of IB practice.
- Lead teacher performance reviews and appraisals.
- Implement performance improvement plans where required.
Strategic Contribution
- Work closely with the Director of School to set and implement the academic strategic vision and growth. Provide insights to increase enrollment.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Admissions team to provide academic content and representation that supports student recruitment and retention.
- Represent the academic voice at the senior leadership level and in communications with the school community.
Communication and Community Engagement
- Be responsible for all major academic, student life, and school wide communications to the parent community.
- Create monthly newsletters to share the school’s programs and initiatives to the public in order to maintain an active voice and presence.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the whole school community, ensuring transparent communication and active involvement in school initiatives.
School Representation and Partnerships
- Serve as one of the academic representatives of the school in internal and external engagements.
- Develop and maintain academic partnerships with schools, universities, networks, and educational associations.
Job Requirement
- Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8‑10 years of experience in educational leadership, with at least 3 years in a senior role within an IB World School.
- Deep, practical knowledge of both the PYP and MYP frameworks; experience with the DP is an advantage.
- Completion of IB Category 1, 2, or 3 Professional Developments will be considered as an advantage.
- A proven track record of leading curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, and successful IB authorization/evaluation visits.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to unify teams and build consensus.
