About the job: Sales Support Representative
The primary focus of the role is the preparation and submission of quotations and proposals. Maintain and develop existing/new customer relations with specific focus on Clearing and Forwarding.
Role
Report directly to a Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate as a member of AW Indonesia and regional SEA teams, working closely with other Commercial and Business Unit Managers within South East Asia and other entities globally.
- Attend networking and direct customer enquiries.
- Request rates from service providers and assist Business Development Manager & Commercial Managers for all proposals compilation.
- Establish and develop vendor relationships in South East Asia (e.g. with transporters, barge brokers/carriers, container shipping lines and freight forwarders) including full hands‑on operational support where required.
- Maintain a high standard of service delivery at all times.
- Outward personality to communicate effectively with customers and build positive relationships.
- Resolve problems/queries efficiently.
- Address internal and external operational issues, liaise and coordinate with vendors (ports operators, transporters, etc.) and internal customers.
- Attend monthly commercial activity reporting in the form of sales pipeline/enquiry register.
- Prepare and submit customer onboarding documents to legal for review.
- Work through service agreements for secured businesses with the legal department.
- Ensure compliance with Group Policies.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superior.
- Reinforce Group culture, values and reputation.
About You
- Diploma or degree in business administration, logistics or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years sales/estimator experience.
- Excellent commercial and entrepreneurial flair is critical to the success of this role.
- Strong builder of relationships with interested parties.
- Good knowledge of the shipping and logistics management industries specifically focused on local and cross‑border transport, air freight, SEA LCL, FCL, OOG, BB, part/full charter.
- Analytical in approach with capabilities of compiling shipment estimates.
- Proven ability to work on cross‑functional and multicultural teams.
- Strong character, initiative, creative, innovative and analytical skills.
- Meticulous, responsible and positive working attitude, willingness to help others.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Adaptable and able to accommodate prevailing conditions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure and fast‑paced working environment meeting deadlines and/or beyond office hours.
