GarudaFood is a food and beverage company subordinated to the Tudung Group. In addition to GarudaFood, the Tudung Group also operates in Agribusiness companies in the Crude Palm Oil field and Peanuts.
GarudaFood Group originated from PT Tudung, established in Pati, Central Java. The company founder, the deceased Darmo Putro, was an ex-warrior who chose to engage in the business sector after Indonesia's independence. In 1987, the company started selling peanut production products under the brand Kacang Garing Garuda, now known as Kacang Garuda. Kacang Garuda earned several awards, including the Indonesian Customer Satisfaction Award (ICSA) for eight consecutive years (2000-2007), Superbrands (2003), Top Brand for Kids (2004), Indonesian Best Brand Award (IBBA, 2004-2007), and Top Brand (2007).
In 1997, PT GarudaFood Jaya (GFJ) was established, producing Gery-branded biscuits. Gery Saluut earned the Indonesian Best Brand Award (IBBA) from 2005-2010, and Gery Chocolatos earned IBBA from 2007-2010. In 1998, GarudaFood acquired PT Triteguh Manunggal Sejati (TRMS), a producer of jelly, and launched jelly products under the brands Okky and Keffy. Okky jelly earned the Top Brand for Kids (TBK) Award in 2004 and the Indonesian Best Brand Award (IBBA) from 2005-2010.
GarudaFood also produces snacks under the brand Leo, including potato chips, banana chips, and cassava chips, which earned the IBBA award from 2007-2010. The company is positively perceived as one of the admired food and beverage companies in Indonesia, ranking third in the Indonesian Most Admired Company (IMAC) survey from 2006-2010. GarudaFood performs corporate social responsibility (CSR) under the flag of GarudaFood Sehati and has established a subsidiary, PT Garuda Suntory Beverage, focused on beverage development.
