Job Role
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, business development, PLN tender activities, and key account management within Indonesia's electrical power and industrial sectors.
The role will focus on managing relationships with PT PLN (Persero), leading tender and bidding processes, developing strategic relationships with major OEM customers, and identifying new opportunities within the power transmission and distribution market.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong sales professional with an Electrical Engineering background, extensive experience in the electrical industry, proven exposure to PLN procurement and tender processes, and strong commercial and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sales activities and tender processes for PT PLN (Persero), including vendor qualification, bid preparation, submission, negotiation, and follow-up.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with PLN stakeholders and other key decision-makers within the power sector.
- Manage and expand key accounts, including multinational electrical equipment manufacturers, OEMs, panel builders, and major industrial customers.
- Develop short-term and long-term sales strategies to increase market share and revenue within the Indonesian electrical equipment market.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial sectors.
- Promote and sell Medium Voltage and Low Voltage Instrument Transformers, including Current Transformers (CT) and Voltage Transformers (VT).
- Conduct customer meetings, technical-commercial presentations, negotiations, and product discussions with key accounts.
- Monitor market developments, customer requirements, competitor activities, and industry trends to identify potential business opportunities.
- Work closely with internal engineering, production, quality, and operations teams to ensure customer and project requirements are properly addressed.
- Coordinate regularly with regional and global management regarding sales performance, pipeline development, tender progress, key accounts, and market opportunities.
- Lead, coach, and support the sales team in achieving commercial targets and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Monitor sales KPIs, pipeline development, project progress, and overall sales performance.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for management.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum 10 years of total professional experience in the electrical industry, with at least 7 years of experience in sales, business development, or key account management.
- Proven experience in technical sales of electrical equipment, preferably within the power generation, transmission, or distribution industry.
- Strong experience handling PT PLN (Persero) tender and procurement processes, including vendor qualification, bidding, negotiation, and project follow-up.
- Experience managing key accounts such as multinational electrical equipment manufacturers, OEMs, panel builders, utilities, or major industrial customers.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical equipment and power systems, particularly instrument transformers, Current Transformers (CT), and Voltage Transformers (VT).
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets with measurable commercial results.
- Previous experience leading, coaching, or managing a sales team.
- Strong business development, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and commercial thinking with the ability to develop sales strategies and translate them into actionable plans.
- Proactive, target-oriented, and highly accountable, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Professional business-level English, both written and spoken, for communication with regional and global management.
- Willingness to travel frequently for customer visits, tenders, meetings, and business development activities across West Java and Central Java.
