Safety Advisor - Expat position (FIFO to Cambodia)

MACA (OPMS Cambodia) is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a FIFO opportunity on a 4 week on, 2 week off roster, mobilising from Indonesia to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

You will be based at the Okvau Gold Project, located in Cambodia's Mondulkiri province, approximately 275km north-east of the capital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide health, safety and environmental support to the Project Manager and site leadership team.
  • Coordinate site based occupational health, safety, and environment activities to ensure the wellbeing of personnel, the integrity of equipment, and the safe handling of materials.
  • Ensure that all employees and subcontractors receive adequate instruction and comply with project HSE systems.
  • Conduct safety investigations, prepare reports, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation.
  • Develop, conduct monthly toolbox talks and other safety communication activities.
  • Perform regular workplace inspections and support continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a mining or heavy industry environment.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering safety programs and initiatives.
  • ICAM Lead Investigator trained (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Sound computer skills and intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office suite.
