Job summary

Lifted, an Upwork Company™, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to design AI training tasks and evaluate AI-generated solutions using OpenSees. You will develop problem statements, reference solutions, and scoring criteria for complex structural engineering challenges.

This fully remote contract role requires a Civil/Structural background, hands-on OpenSees experience, and familiarity with ACI 318, AISC 360, and Eurocodes. Flexible hours and weekly payments offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; master's/phd a plus.
• Professional experience in structural analysis and design.
• Hands-on experience using OpenSees.
• Knowledge of ACI 318, AISC 360, Eurocode EN 1992/1993/1998.
• Experience with nonlinear modeling, response spectrum, pushover, or performance-based design.
• Ability to write clear, detailed engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.

Responsibilities

• Design AI training tasks based on structural engineering concepts and real-world design challenges.
• Create clear engineering problem statements covering structural analysis, design, simulation, and code compliance.
• Develop reference solutions and deterministic scoring criteria to evaluate AI outputs.
• Build engineering tasks using OpenSees and other structural engineering methodologies.
• Create evaluation scenarios covering pushover analysis, seismic design, FEA, reinforced concrete and steel connections.
• Review AI-generated solutions for technical accuracy and compliance with design codes.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in structural engineering.
• Work independently in a fully remote, flexible environment.
