Job summary

ClientEarth in Indonesia is seeking a Lawyer, Marine Biodiversity Conservation, to support our new programme on Food, Ocean, and Land Use. This remote, fixed-term role is based in Jakarta and will contribute to biodiversity protection through legal research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

You will work with government agencies, CSOs, industry partners, and donors to advance Indonesia's marine biodiversity conservation, including MPAs and GBF targets.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (CEFR C2) required.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia (CEFR C2) required.
• Experience in marine biodiversity conservation law, policy and regulation.
• Knowledge of Indonesia’s marine biodiversity landscape and GBF/30x30 targets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead marine biodiversity legal workstreams in Indonesia.
• Engage with government agencies, industry, CSOs, and donors.
• Represent ClientEarth at public forums and events.
