Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Commercial Reefer Manager to lead and manage our cold chain logistics operations. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation and storage of temperature-sensitive products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of cold chain logistics, and a proactive approach to operational excellence and innovation.

You will oversee end-to-end cold chain operations including infrastructure, vendors, compliance, and team management while ensuring high performance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership
• Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize and scale cold chain logistics operations.
• Drive innovation and operational enhancements aligned with company goals and market demands.
• Operational Management
• Oversee all cold chain activities including transportation, warehousing, and product handling.
• Ensure temperature compliance, quality control, and adherence to operational standards.
• Vendor & Carrier Management
• Manage and negotiate with carriers, logistics providers, and cold storage partners.
• Monitor service levels and drive performance improvements and cost efficiency.
• Infrastructure & Technology Oversight
• Supervise maintenance and upgrades of cold storage facilities and reefer transport equipment.
• Leverage technology solutions to enhance visibility, monitoring, and efficiency.
• Compliance, Quality & Risk Management
• Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and internal policies.
• Implement quality assurance systems to maintain product integrity and reduce operational risks.
• Financial Oversight
• Manage budgets for cold chain logistics, identifying opportunities for cost control and ROI improvements.
• Report on financial performance and align spending with strategic priorities.
• Team Leadership & Development
• Lead and mentor a team of cold chain professionals across various functions.
• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
• Process Optimization
• Identify process inefficiencies and drive initiatives for enhanced performance and scalability.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree or MBA is a strong advantage.
• Experience: 5-7 years in cold chain logistics with at least 3 years in a senior management or leadership role.
• Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic cold chain plans.
• Operational Mastery: Deep understanding of cold chain processes, temperature-controlled logistics, and industry best practices.
• Financial Acumen: Skilled in budgeting, financial oversight, and cost management.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with global and local cold chain regulations, safety, and compliance standards.
• Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Tech Proficiency Experience with cold chain monitoring systems, WMS/TMS, and supply chain technologies is preferred.
