We are looking for an R&D Kitchen Set & Wardrobe Specialist to serve as the key technical bridge between design concepts and factory production. You will transform interior and sales concepts into precise, machine-ready technical drawings, detailed assembly structures, and optimized production documents. You will ensure every kitchen set and wardrobe design achieves the highest standards of functionality, aesthetics, structural integrity, and manufacturing efficiency while providing essential technical support across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Product & Design Development: Develop innovative and functional kitchen set and wardrobe product designs that meet customer expectations and align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Technical Drawing & Assembly Details: Create precise 2D and 3D technical drawings, shop drawings, detail assembly views, and exploded drawings required for seamless factory production.
- Production Documentation: Prepare accurate cutting lists, Bill of Materials (BOM), and detailed material specifications to optimize raw material usage and ensure production cost efficiency.
- Design & Quality Optimization: Ensure all product designs rigorously satisfy functional requirements, aesthetic values, structural engineering integrity, and production efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Production, Quality Control (QC), PPIC, and Sales & Marketing teams to align design intent with manufacturing and market requirements.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Analyze and provide rapid technical solutions for structural or installation issues arising in the field or on the factory floor.
- Standardization & SOP Development: Formulate, refine, and maintain technical standards, production guidelines, and product Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Sales Enablement: Provide ongoing technical support to the Sales & Marketing team, including drawing creation and technical consultation to secure client projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in kitchen set, wardrobe, or custom furniture design and manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in technical drawing software, specifically AutoCAD (2D) and SketchUp (3D); familiarity with additional rendering or 3D CAD software is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of modular furniture construction systems, structural joinery details, assembly methodologies, and field installation processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of panel materials, hardware mechanisms (e.g., Blum, Hafele), appliances, and aluminum/metal structural framing.
- Proven ability to independently generate shop drawings, exploded assembly views, accurate cutting lists, and comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Highly meticulous with numbers and dimensions, demonstrating strong attention to detail and error minimization.
- Proactive problem-solver with strong initiative, capable of working independently or collaboratively under tight deadlines and target-driven environments.
- Excellent cross-departmental coordination and communication skills (verbal and written) to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external clients.
