Job summary

Caterpillar Batam is seeking a Quality Specialist (Assembly) to oversee assembly quality issues and drive improvements on the shop floor. You will work closely with production teams to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards in a combined office and production environment.

The role requires hands-on inspection experience, ability to read drawings, and expertise with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum SMA or equivalent.
• Familiar with MS Office.
• Experience as operator/inspector in automotive manufacturing preferred.
• Able to read technical drawings.
• Able to use measurement tools (Vernier caliper, dial gauge, micrometer, bore gauge).
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Detail-oriented and analytical.

Responsibilities

• Perform Assembly and general quality inspections according to requirements.
• Create reports and update AQE (All Quality Event).
• Mark inspected components with tags per disposition.
• Coordinate repair processes for dimensional issues.
• Recheck issues after repairs are completed.
• Perform 5S daily and ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Prepare daily work reports.
