A global aquaculture company is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to perform quality inspections, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain accurate records in laboratory settings. This role involves regular testing of water quality, inspecting raw materials, and promoting biosecurity measures in hatchery environments. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree and strong observation and problem-solving skills.
Perform regular water quality tests (chemical and physical) in laboratory settings to maintain optimal conditions for shrimp larval development.
Inspect the quality of raw materials used in production (e.g., water, feed, additives) to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections of shrimp at different developmental stages (Nauplii, Zoea, Mysis, Post Larvae) to ensure they meet defined standards.
Collect and test samples for microbial contamination, including pathogens.
Document and report test results promptly to QA and production teams to prevent the spread of disease or contamination.
Maintain accurate and consistent records of all quality inspection activities.
Report any deviations or abnormalities in product quality and propose immediate corrective actions to supervisors.
Assist production teams by inspecting in-process quality and identifying issues that arise during operations.
Inspect packaging processes to ensure correct shrimp quantity, seal integrity, and appropriate temperature control during handling and transportation.
Comply with workplace safety protocols, internal biosecurity procedures, and environmental health standards in accordance with company policies and relevant government regulations.
Implement and promote biosecurity measures within the facility to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic animal diseases.
Ensure adherence to all applicable aquaculture laws and regulations, particularly those related to water quality, animal welfare, and shrimp health management.
Cooperate with company-wide activities, including training sessions, operational initiatives, and quality system development, to support the organization’s overall goals.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Experience in shrimp hatchery operations or aquaculture QC is preferred.
Knowledge of water quality management, microbiological techniques, and aquatic animal health.
Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
Good observation, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Able to work in hatchery environments and follow strict biosecurity and safety procedures.
