Pt. Blue Ocean Labs seeks a Senior Geochemical Analyst to join its on-site laboratory in Samarinda, East Kalimantan.

You will operate ICP-MS, ICP-OES, AAS, XRF and fire assay, develop analytical methods, interpret results, and uphold QA/QC standards to deliver reliable data for mineral exploration and environmental projects. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in geochemical analysis, strong analytical thinking, and excellent reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Geochemistry, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on geochemical analysis experience.
• Expertise with ICP-MS, ICP-OES, AAS and XRF.
• Strong QA/QC procedures and data validation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a laboratory team.

Senior Geochemical Analyst - Remote Laboratory Services

Our client, a prominent geological services provider, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geochemical Analyst to join their state-of-the-art laboratory facility in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, ID . This is an on-site role essential for providing accurate and reliable geochemical data crucial for mineral exploration and environmental monitoring projects. You will be responsible for operating advanced analytical instrumentation, developing analytical methods, interpreting results, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in geochemical analysis, a strong understanding of laboratory quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols, and excellent attention to detail. This position offers a chance to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to significant geological endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of geochemical analyses on various sample types (e.g., rock, soil, water, sediment) using techniques such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, AAS, XRF, and fire assay.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate sophisticated analytical instruments.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods and procedures.
• Implement and manage rigorous QA/QC protocols to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Interpret analytical results and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Troubleshoot analytical challenges and provide solutions.
• Supervise and mentor junior analysts and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Geochemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience in geochemical analysis within a commercial or research laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining advanced analytical instruments (ICP-MS, ICP-OES, AAS, XRF).
• Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry principles and techniques.
• Proven experience with laboratory QA/QC procedures and data validation.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong technical writing and communication abilities for report generation.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a laboratory team.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality results.
• Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) is a plus.
