Job summary

A Nickel Mining Company in Sulawesi Tenggara is seeking an experienced QAQC Geologist to oversee nickel ore quality from upstream to downstream. Responsibilities include supervising grade control, overseeing ore quality during shipments, and ensuring strict laboratory QA/QC standards. The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering, have at least 5 years of mining experience, and possess strong communication skills. This role is located at the mine site in North Konawe or Luwu.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, comprehensive 'all-rounder' QAQC Geologist to oversee nickel ore quality from upstream to downstream. You will be responsible for quality control in the field while simultaneously ensuring laboratory procedures and analysis results meet strict standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Grade Control & Stockpile: Conduct strict supervision of grade control activities in the pit and stockpile management to minimize dilution and ensure ore grade consistency.
• Barging & Shipment: Oversee ore quality during loading/barging activities, ensuring shipped cargo meets sales contract specifications.
• Laboratory QAQC: Monitor and verify Laboratory processes (both internal and contractor/surveyor), from sample preparation to analysis (XRF/AAS), to ensure data accuracy.
• QAQC SOPs implementation: Ensure strict implementation of QAQC SOPs throughout the production chain.
• Reporting: Prepare daily and periodic reports regarding production quality and laboratory performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Geological Engineering or Mining Engineering.
• Mandatory minimum of 5 years of experience in the nickel mining industry.
• Mandatory hands-on experience in Grade Control and/or Stockpile & Barging management.
• Mandatory understanding of Laboratory QAQC processes and procedures (such as sampling techniques, sample preparation, and lab analysis validation).
• Prior experience with surveyor companies (Surveyor Indonesia, Sucofindo, or Geoservices) or a background from analyst schools (SMK-SMTI/Politeknik ATI) is a major advantage.
• Willing to be placed on a roster basis at the mine site in North Konawe or Luwu.
• Ability to work under pressure with strong communication skills to coordinate with production and lab teams.
