Responsibilities
- Coordinate, consult & audit DVP, MVT, vehicle build & sign-off process across the program to ensure prototype vehicle maturity and quality fit for assigned tests.
- Organize development: recruitment planning, training and coaching of team members; build the next leadership team; establish KPIs to evaluate member effectiveness and capacity.
- Budget & resources management: lead budgeting processes, negotiate vehicle and test facility requirements to meet standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Design organizational systems (organization chart) to establish processes and ensure quality.
- Manage and evaluate the effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Provide testing support to the program by overseeing activities, identifying and reporting issues, and validating corrective actions.
- Develop and oversee the complete Vehicle Design Verification Plan (DVP), focusing on homologation processes.
- Foster collaboration: engage with internal and external stakeholders to define and align on test protocols.
- Lead prototype development: direct the build of test vehicle prototypes and partner with suppliers to resolve issues.
- Guide testing efforts: oversee attribute tests, collaborating with suppliers and attribute leads to ensure quality and performance.
- Chair essential meetings around status updates, issue resolution and test planning to keep teams aligned and meet goals.
- Communicate with leadership: provide insights and reports to the Program Chief Engineer for transparency and strategic alignment.
- Organize showcase events: plan and execute drive events for senior management to highlight innovation and progress.
- Matrix working environment: collaborate with ESPs, suppliers, and internal divisions (Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.).
Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in vehicle performance testing (Passive/Active safety, Drivability, Vehicle Dynamics, Durability, NVH, Thermal, Environment) with ICE and/or electric vehicles; design engineering experience preferred.
- Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products, and internal controls; identifying issues from internal/external examinations.
- Minimum 5 years in the automotive industry; for manager roles, +3 years of managerial experience.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build relationships.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems and recommend solutions.
- Proficient knowledge of automotive industry standards and best practices around testing, validation and risk management.
- Demonstrated success in influencing business units to identify, formulate and implement processes to mitigate risk.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to question decisions, understand direction and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a global, dynamic environment.
- Highly motivated, team-oriented, and flexible to a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; problem-solving, teamwork, and analytical abilities.
- Experience working with JIRA.
- Deep understanding of vehicle performance areas (as listed above).
