Jotun is expanding rapidly in Indonesia and seeking a dynamic professional to strengthen the Project team as the Project Purchasing Specialist. The job holder will play a critical role in supporting the technical investment project for the paint factory by managing and executing project specific procurement activities. This includes sourcing and expediting process equipment, project materials, installation services, and indirect materials, ensuring alignment with Group Purchasing (GP) policies, project timelines, and budget requirements. The role involves close collaboration with the Project Manager, Consultant, Contractors, Engineering, HSE, and local operations teams, as well as global category managers, to ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement that supports the successful execution of the paint factory’s upgrade and conversion project. This is a contract position for 12 months with potential for extension subject to project needs and performance, based in Bekasi, Jawa Barat and reports directly to the Project Director.
Responsibilities
- Source, issue, and expedite purchase orders for project‑related equipment, raw materials, direct packaging, and indirect materials in line with approved vendor lists and GP guidelines.
- Ensure procurement activities align with project schedules, installation timelines, and commissioning milestones.
- Collaborate closely with Project Engineering, Planning, Construction teams, and all partners to translate technical specifications into purchasing requirements and ensure on‑time delivery of project materials and equipment.
- Maintain and report on agreed Project Procurement KPIs and prepare regular procurement status updates for project review meetings and management reporting.
- Assist in supplier invoice validation and payment processes, and support cost control efforts by tracking purchase commitments against project budgets and flagging potential overruns.
- Ensure the best possible agreements for designated IM categories by following the Tactical Purchasing Process and utilizing relevant contract formats, while maintaining accurate records of disputes, resolutions and corrective actions for reporting and audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law preferable, with good understanding in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally within project‑based or industrial settings (manufacturing, chemical, or paint industry preferred).
- Good understanding of agreement and legal aspect of the contract.
- Prior experience working with FIDIC based contracts (preferred Red Book and White Book) will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and project supply chain dynamics.
- Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal); proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines with multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate across engineering, construction, and procurement teams.
