Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a seasoned Software Development Engineer in Jakarta to design, develop, and test software systems, including cloud-based tools. You will work in a micro-services style, integrating APIs and ML/AI components while solving complex problems.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of RPG iSeries (AS/400) development, a bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering, and strong SDLC knowledge, with ability to work independently and in a team on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as an RPG iSeries (AS/400) Developer.
• Strong knowledge of RPGLE, SQL RPGLE, CLLE, PF, DSPF, PRTF, FTP, and IBM iSeries/AS400 technologies.
• Experience in application development, enhancement, maintenance, and production support.

• Analyze business requirements and develop solutions within the AS400/iSeries environment.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain RPG-based applications and programs.
• Perform application enhancement, bug fixing, troubleshooting, and production support activities.
• Develop and optimize database queries based on business and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with business users, QA, and technical teams during development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Perform system and application support to ensure stability, performance, and business continuity.
• Follow SDLC processes and development standards throughout project implementation.

Your day at NTT DATA

The Software Development Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, tasked with participating in designing, developing, and testing software systems, modules, or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. This role is accountable for participating in detailed design for certain modules/sub-systems, doing prototype for multi-vendor infrastructure, and showcasing it internally or externally to clients. This role designs and develops functionality in a micro-services environment working with APIs, telemetry data, and running ML/AI algorithms on it, working with both structured and unstructured data.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.


• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an RPG iSeries (AS/400) Developer.


• Strong knowledge of RPGLE, SQL RPGLE, CLLE, PF, DSPF, PRTF, FTP, and IBM iSeries/AS400 technologies.


• Experience in application development, enhancement, maintenance, and production support.


• Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.


• Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).


• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a development team.
