The Furniture Production Manager oversees and manages the daily operations of our manufacturing floor — from raw material handling, machine operations, to final quality control. At Hamesha, this role plays a vital part in turning design visions into tangible, high-quality furniture pieces using a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern production methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce quality standards for materials such as wood, rattan, linen, ceramics, and hardware.
- Supervise incoming, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure consistency in size, finish, joinery, and structural stability.
- Approve product samples (First Article Inspection) before mass production begins.
SOPs, Documentation & Compliance
- Establish and maintain quality checklists, defect classification guidelines, and SOPs for inspection.
- Ensure compliance with local and international product quality and safety regulations.
- Support documentation needed for client audits and export quality requirements.
Defect Management & Improvement
- Track product defects and rework data; analyze patterns using tools like Pareto and 5 Whys.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with production and design teams to resolve recurring quality issues.
Packaging & Export Readiness
- Ensure final packaging meets safety and aesthetic standards for both local and export logistics.
- Check that labels, SKUs, and shipping documents are accurate and complete.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead and mentor the QA/QC inspection team across production lines.
- Organize training on defect prevention, finishing techniques, and client quality expectations.
- Set and monitor quality KPIs such as rejection rate, first-pass yield, and rework percentage.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with R&D and design teams during product development to highlight quality risks.
- Work closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure raw material consistency and reliability.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Furniture Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of QA/QC experience in furniture, cabinetry, interior fittings, or similar manufacturing sectors.
- Proven ability to manage a QA team and maintain process discipline on the factory floor.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, joinery, natural material behavior, and finishing standards.
- Familiarity with quality frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficient in tools like Excel, quality inspection software, or ERP modules.
