A leading telecommunications services company in Indonesia seeks a Product Development Specialist to lead the end-to-end product development process. The role involves conducting technical research, analyzing market needs, and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure product delivery. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications or a related field and have 5–10 years of relevant experience in the ISP/Telco sector. Knowledge of network technologies and strong analytical skills are essential.
Conduct in-depth technical research related to network technologies: IP/MPLS, Metro Ethernet, SD‑WAN, GPON/FTTH, IP Transit, Cloud, Security, Data Center, API/Platform Integration, Automation.
Analyze market needs and determine feasible technical specifications.
Propose new technologies that can improve network efficiency and product capabilities.
Lead the entire product development process from the ideation stage, proof of concept (POC), technical design, to commercialization.
Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with technical details (topology, architecture, hardware/software requirements, SLAs, flow provisioning).
Coordinate with Sales, Presales, NOC, Engineering, and Operations to ensure product delivery meets standards.
Analyze network capabilities and determine the most optimal solution for each customer segment.
Conduct technical feasibility and cost analysis to ensure product profitability.
Design provisioning, monitoring, and service improvement workflows for new products.
Monitor product technical performance (latency, availability, capacity utilization).
Develop new features or upgrades based on sales needs or technological developments.
Manage product growth, maturity, and decline phases.
Serve as a technical product expert for Telco, Wholesale, Enterprise, and SME sales teams.
Assist in conducting technical presentations to strategic customers.
Determine pricing structures based on network costs, service capabilities, competitors, and target margins when creating or improving new products.
Develop business cases for adding new services or features.
Propose bundling models and contract schemes (bandwidth, capacity‑based, usage‑based, managed service).
Collaborate with: Network & Infrastructure, Engineering & Operations, Solution Architect, Marketing/Marcomm, Procurement, Finance, Legal.
Establish relationships with vendors, technology principals, and partners for POCs and product evaluations.
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications/Informatics/Electrical Engineering from reputable university.
5–10 years of experience in an ISP/Telco with a focus on product development or technical products.
Experience developing products such as: IP Transit / IPLC, Metro Ethernet / L2/L3 VPN, SD‑WAN, DIA Broadband / FO, Cloud / Security / Managed Service.
Understanding of routing (BGP/OSPF/MPLS), switching, QoS, peering, IX, and backbone capacity.
Able to create technical documents (topology, architecture design, SLA design) and operational workflows.
Experience working with customer segments: Telco, Wholesale, Enterprise, and SME.
Experience conducting POCs, testing, and platform integration.
Strong analytical skills and ability to understand technical cost structures.
Experience developing at least one commercially deployed ISP product.
Experience building automation or APIs for products.
Knowledge of cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) or virtual networks.
Cybersecurity knowledge for managed services.
Technical certifications (preferred): CCNP/CCDP/CCNA Service Provider or JNCIS/JNCIP, SD‑WAN Certification.
