KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Process Engineer‑Hydraulics to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front‑end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities and will have a peak production capacity target of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of national strategic importance by the Indonesian government.

The Process Engineer – Hydraulics will be part of a team that will perform hydraulic calculations and simulations for LNG process systems including pipelines, pumps, compressors, and control valves. This role will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure hydraulic designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements to drive impactful engineering solutions for the Abadi Project.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review PFDs and P&IDs with a focus on hydraulic integrity and process efficiency
  • Conduct transient analysis and surge studies to mitigate risks in LNG transfer and storage systems
  • Support procurement by preparing technical specifications for hydraulic equipment and reviewing vendor documentation
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews to ensure hydraulic systems are robust and compliant
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup phases
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (API, ASME, ISO), and client requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Engineering bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of process engineering experience, with average experience of 10+ years
  • Strong background in the Oil & Gas industry with a focus on hydraulics in LNG
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., PIPE‑FLO, AFT Fathom, Aspen HYSYS)
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and process control
  • Familiarity with LNG plant operations, cryogenic systems, and high‑pressure gas handling
  • Experience with dynamic simulation tools and surge analysis
  • Knowledge of international standards and best practices in LNG hydraulic design
