Job summary

City of Trinidad, Colorado is seeking a Patrol Officer to protect life and property by enforcing city statutes and state laws. You will patrol designated areas, deter crime, apprehend offenders, write citations and make arrests, conduct investigations, and provide information and assistance to the public.

The position is full-time, Non-Exempt, with a starting wage of $27.16 per hour. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; four to five years related experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Enforces city and state codes to protect life and property.
• Patrols designated areas by vehicle or on foot to deter crime.
• Writes citations, makes arrests, and conducts investigations as needed.
• Responds to calls involving accidents, misdemeanors and felonies; assists the public.
