Job Summary

The Operations Manager – Sport Hall is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and efficient operation of the sports facility. This role ensures smooth day‑to‑day activities, excellent customer experience, adherence to safety standards, and optimal use of the facility for sporting events, rentals, and community programs.

Responsibilities
1. Facility Operations & Maintenance
  • Oversee daily operations of the sport hall, including scheduling, setup, and supervision of events and activities
  • Ensure all areas (courts, locker rooms, equipment, utilities) are clean, safe, and well‑maintained
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and infrastructure
  • Monitor inventory of sports equipment, cleaning supplies, and operational materials
2. Staff Supervision & Training
  • Manage and supervise operational staff (facility attendants, cleaners, technicians, security, and event crew)
  • Conduct regular training to ensure staff adhere to safety, customer service, and operational standards
  • Prepare work schedules and manage shift assignments
3. Customer Service & Event Coordination
  • Ensure excellent service delivery to members, guests, and event organizers
  • Coordinate with clients, sports teams, and organizations for bookings and special events
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve operational issues promptly
4. Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safety and emergency procedures in line with local regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Maintain proper documentation for licenses, insurance, and compliance reports
5. Budgeting & Reporting
  • Assist in preparing and managing the operations budget, including cost control and expense monitoring
  • Prepare operational reports on facility usage, maintenance activities, and event performance
  • Recommend improvements for operational efficiency and cost optimization
6. Marketing & Business Support
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the sport hall’s activities, programs, and rental opportunities
  • Support the implementation of membership programs and customer retention strategies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in operations or facility management, preferably in sports or recreation centers.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of sports facility equipment, safety regulations, and maintenance standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management systems.
  • Willingness to work on weekends or evenings as required by events or peak schedules.
