Job summary

Amcor is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the full scope of Production Operations and Maintenance at ASC Indonesia, located in Pasuruan, Jawa Timur. The role focuses on driving productivity, quality, cost control, and on-time delivery while maintaining high safety standards and staff development.

This position reports to the Plant General Manager and requires a strong leadership presence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in manufacturing, with a background in packaging

The Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing the full scope of Production Operations—both inline and offline—along with Maintenance functions at ASC Indonesia. This role ensures all operations are executed efficiently, safely, and profitably. Key responsibilities include the strategic and effective deployment of manpower, materials, equipment, and facility resources. The Operations Manager is also responsible for coordinating activities across functional areas, setting clear operational priorities, and driving alignment with established organizational objectives

This position reports directly to the Plant General Manager.

Location base : Pasuruan - Jawa Timur Indonesia

Job Responsibilities :
Productivity:
  • Set productivity goals and targets for Operations in alignment with Operations+ Output Measures, In-Process Measures, and Health Checks.
  • Implement process improvements and lean methodologies to achieve productivity, waste, and other EBIT savings.
  • Drive manufacturing strategies that enhance production process and equipment efficiency through Operations+ methodology (Pillars).
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) via Line DDS, FU DDS, Weekly DDS, and Monthly O+ reviews; prepare and submit MMR/MORR reports to the Management Team.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and lead efforts to implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to both short- and long-term production strategies as a member of the management team.
  • Collaborate regularly with regional/global teams, support functions, and suppliers to drive production effectiveness.
  • Enhance operational systems and processes to improve reporting, workflow, and organizational planning.
  • Develop and lead effective maintenance programs to ensure equipment readiness and reliability
Quality:
  • Establish and enforce quality standards across daily operations.
  • Conduct regular quality BOS reviews and shop floor audits to ensure adherence to customer-released quality standards.
  • Implement and improve on-line quality control programs to ensure product consistency.
  • Minimize defects and rework through strong quality control systems.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Product Development teams to improve first-time-right performance, product quality, raw material compliance, and regulatory standards
Cost:
  • Develop and manage operational and project budgets.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across operations.
  • Support Procurement in reviewing supplier/vendor contracts to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and successful turnkey projects.
  • Analyze financial and performance data to identify cost optimization opportunities (e.g., AV%, OPEX/CAPEX control, manpower allocation).
  • Review and optimize manpower budget for Production and Maintenance, focusing on labor efficiency and productivity
Delivery:
  • Actively participate in regional projects and contribute to Asia-level solution rollouts.
  • Manage production scheduling to ensure on-time product delivery.
  • Monitor inventory and supply chain processes to reduce lead times and avoid delays.
  • Address production issues promptly to maintain delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with Logistics to manage material handling, receiving, and dispatch of tools, equipment, and systems
Safety:
  • Enforce environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards per Amcor Safety Rules, national regulations, and mandatory compliance requirements.
  • Lead regular safety sessions and conduct 6S audits on the shop floor.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement preventive corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety laws and guidelines.

Specification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record in leadership and operational management.
  • Strong background in the packaging industry, preferably with experience in gravure and offset printing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction, and operational efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Broad knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing and production management practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong integrity and ethical standards.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-national teams and cross-functional projects, with strong influence and leadership capabilities even without direct authority.
  • Advanced change management skills with a proactive and strategic mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams toward achieving business objectives.
  • Advanced training and/or practical experience in manufacturing techniques, systems, and process optimization
