Job summary

Terra Softech invites applications for a Machine Learning Engineer to research, develop, and deploy ML systems on the Giuseppe platform for food science and technology. You will collaborate with Experimental Chefs and Food Scientists to craft ML-driven solutions for new product development, from plants to novel proteins.

You will lead ML initiatives end-to-end, emphasizing strong research, project management, and potential team leadership.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with ML focus.
• 3+ years in an Applied Machine Learning group.
• Strong Python software engineering and testing (unittest, nose).
• Strong data science skills with PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, Jupyter, Matplotlib, Hugging Face, LangChain, Polars.
• Experience training DL models and cloud GPU/TPU training.
• Familiarity with model packaging and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP).
• Expertise in Representational Learning or Transformers preferred.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and deploy ML systems on Giuseppe platform for food science applications.
• Collaborate with Experimental Chefs & Food Scientists to find ML-driven solutions for new products.
• Lead ML initiatives end-to-end from proposal to deployment; may lead a small team.
• Analyze and debug deployed models and suggest improvements to data, algorithms, or workflows.
• Identify new datasets to improve model performance.
• Read and implement recent ML papers relevant to our scope.
• Dive into food science domain and learn about proteins and aroma molecules.
• Contribute to department and organization projects.
