Job summary

City of Port Aransas is seeking a dedicated bus driver to transport passengers safely and on time along scheduled routes. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain vehicle readiness, and assist passengers during boarding and alighting while ensuring safety protocols for wheelchairs and mobility devices.

Responsibilities include managing fares, staying punctual, and coordinating with dispatch to handle incidents or delays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; driving experience preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver License in good standing; CDL Class A with passenger endorsement is required or obtainable.
• Ability to read, interpret simple instructions and communicate effectively with passengers and dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Drive minibus to transport passengers safely and on schedule.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Ensure vehicle is fueled, maintained, and stocked with necessary equipment.
• Assist passengers boarding and alighting; manage passenger information and safety protocols.
• Secure wheelchairs and assist passengers with safety restraints as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, and fares.
• Respond to emergencies calmly and communicate with dispatch.
