Job summary

PT Medisafe Technologies is seeking a Microbiologist to oversee daily microbiology laboratory operations, environmental monitoring, and product testing to ensure ISO 13485, ISO 11737, GLP and GMP compliance. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Microbiology or related field, 4+ years of industrial microbiology experience, and domicile in Medan.

Job description

The Microbiologist oversees daily microbiology laboratory operations, environmental monitoring programs, and product testing procedures to ensure total compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 11737, GLP, and GMP requirements. This role combines hands-on technical execution (bioburden, sterility, and sampling) with laboratory management - leading method verifications, instrument qualifications, quality investigations, and the setup of new lab facilities. Reporting to Quality Assurance (QA), acts as the primary technical expert for microbiological quality across Production, Engineering, and QA teams.

Key responsibilities

Oversee daily microbiology laboratory operations

Conduct product testing procedures

Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 11737, GLP, and GMP requirements

Perform hands-on technical execution including bioburden, sterility, and sampling

Lead method verifications and instrument qualifications

Conduct quality investigations

Set up new lab facilities

Act as primary technical expert for microbiological quality across Production, Engineering, and QA teams

About you

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field

Minimum 4 years industrial microbiology experience (pharmaceutical, medical device, or food industry preferred)

Hands-on expertise in bioburden and sterility testing

Strong knowledge of GMP, GLP, and ISO 13485 / ISO 11737 microbiological testing standards

Excellent analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
