Job summary

Michelin Asia Pacific is hiring a Mechanical Integrity Engineer in Indonesia. Fresh graduates are welcome and will contribute to equipment design, evaluation, and installation across cross-functional teams. This role requires basic knowledge of NDT, RBI, welding, and strong problem-solving skills.

Based in Cilegon, Banten, the position offers exposure to global projects within a leading materials company committed to sustainable development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering.
• Fresh graduates welcome to apply.
• Up to 1 year of relevant work or internship experience in petrochemical, manufacturing, oil & gas, or related industries preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical integrity, welding processes, non-destructive testing (NDT), and RBI.
• Exposure to welding inspection, NDT, pressure vessel, or tank inspection through academic projects, internships, training, or certifications is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver equipment solutions that meet product and industrial performance requirements with best performance-to-cost ratio.
• Lead feasibility studies and technical evaluations to identify efficient, sustainable solutions.
• Manage equipment design and engineering activities in compliance with internal standards, external regulations, and quality requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Lead project execution from design through installation, commissioning, and industrial validation to ensure robustness and performance targets.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Mechanical engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Candidates with up to 1 year of relevant work experience or internship experience in petrochemical, manufacturing, oil & gas, or related industries are preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical integrity, welding processes, non-destructive testing (NDT), and inspection activities & Risk Based Inspection (RBI).
• Exposure to welding inspection, NDT, pressure vessel, or tank inspection through academic projects, internships, training, or certifications will be an advantage.
• Strong willingness to learn, good analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken, minimum B2 level).
• Willing to be based in Cilegon, Banten.

Preferred:

• Internship or project experience related to mechanical engineering, maintenance, or inspection.
• Basic knowledge of welding, NDT, RBI or equipment inspection.
• Good analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Relevant certifications or technical training are an advantage.
