Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Staff level) based at our Sidoarjo factory, who will be responsible for the maintenance and operational reliability of mechanical and electrical machinery within our seafood processing facility. The ideal candidate is expected to have prior experience working in a similar factory setting, preferably in seafood processing or food manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical machinery, such as compressors, conveyors, vacuum pumps, cold storage equipment, and other food-grade processing machines.
- Ensure optimal functioning of utilities (e.g., water pumps, chillers, boilers, and HVAC systems).
- Collaborate with production teams to prevent and quickly respond to any machinery-related downtime.
- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or production lines.
- Perform preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
- Monitor machine performance and implement improvements for higher efficiency and lower energy consumption.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and food-grade equipment standards, particularly in a seafood production environment.
- Support audits and contribute to health & safety documentation related to machinery and operations.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance within a factory environment.
- Preferably with experience in seafood processing, frozen food, beverage, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge in electromechanical systems, control panels, industrial automation basics, PLC (optional), and factory utilities.
- Capable of performing basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting (LV).
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and understanding machinery manuals.
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight production schedules.
- Willing to work in Sidoarjo and be stationed at the plant full-time.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, or ISO 22000 standards is a plus.
