Title: Mechanical Engineer Equipment List

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Mechanical Engineer – Equipment List to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front-end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities & will have a peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of strategic importance by the Indonesian government.

The Mechanical Equipment List will develop and maintain the Mechanical Equipment List (MEL) for static and rotating equipment, ensuring alignment with project specifications and engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with discipline engineers (process, piping, instrumentation, electrical) to ensure equipment data consistency and completeness
  • Review vendor data and ensure accurate integration into MEL and engineering databases
  • Support procurement by providing technical input on equipment specifications, datasheets, and quantity take-offs
  • Interface with EPC contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure timely updates and resolution of discrepancies
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and model reviews to validate equipment layout and accessibility
  • Ensure MEL compliance with applicable codes, standards (API, ASME, ISO), and client requirements
  • Provide input to project schedules, progress reports, and change management related to mechanical equipment

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience with average experience of 10+ years
  • Strong understanding of static and rotating equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors)
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., SmartPlant, AVEVA, Excel, SAP)
  • Familiarity with international standards and LNG-specific design practices
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation capabilities
  • Prior involvement in LNG or large-scale oil & gas projects
  • Experience working with EPC contractors and global vendors
  • Knowledge of digital engineering databases and document control systems
