Job summary

Aurecon Group in Indonesia is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead design and delivery of building services for high-rise and data centre projects. You will coordinate with architects, structures, and other engineering teams to bring ideas to life across Indonesia.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of consulting experience in the built environment, strong design capabilities in HVAC and hydraulic systems, and excellent communication in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years’ mechanical engineering consulting experience in built environment.
• Strong mechanical design experience for building services projects.
• Experience delivering data centre projects and high-rise facilities.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, coordination and documentation of mechanical building services (HVAC/hydraulic).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
• Support delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects from concept to commissioning.
• Provide technical guidance and solve complex engineering challenges.
• Maintain QA processes and verify site installations meet design specs.

In this position, you will join our growing Indonesia Built Environment business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of building and infrastructure projects.

Project Delivery

• Lead the design, coordination and documentation of specialist mechanical building services, with a focus on either HVAC or Hydraulic (Plumbing) systems.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and practical engineering solutions for high-rise buildings and mission-critical facilities.

• Support the delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects across Indonesia, contributing to the design and implementation of critical mechanical systems.

• Provide technical expertise throughout project phases, from concept and detailed design through to construction support and commissioning.

• Responsible for the success of technical aspects of projects won or allocated.

• Applies established methods and technical judgement to deliver defined work and resolve technical issues

• Demonstrates sound technical capability by consistently applying critical thinking and creativity to deliveroutcomes

• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes specific to mechanical engineering to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.

• Conduct site inspections to verify the installation of mechanical systems and ensure they meet design specifications.

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including mechanical design calculations and reports, equipment specifications, progress updates, and final project deliverables.

Winning Work & Client Relationships

• Delivers proposals / parts of proposals by preparing accurate and complete information aligned torequirements

• Manages defined bid components, ensuring quality and alignment to requirements

• Navigates day-to-day client interactions to support delivery progress and resolve routine issues

• Addresses client queries, resolving issues and escalating where needed

• Maintains client relationships through consistent service and responsiveness

Commercial

• Delivers projects / work packages aligned to scope, milestones and delivery requirements

• Works within budgets and delivery parameters for defined projects / work package

General Management

• Responsible for the compliance to company policies and procedures, legislative requirements and act as a role model for Aurecon’s values and behaviors

• Demonstrate safety leadership in all aspects of Aurecon’s business

• Provide input into Unit or office business planning, as requested

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 10+ years’ relevant mechanical engineering consulting experience in the built environment sector.

• Strong mechanical design experience, with demonstrated delivery of complex building services projects.

• Experience delivering large-scale commercial, high-rise building and/or Data Centre projects.

• Proven experience in mechanical system design, including HVAC, hydraulic/plumbing and associated building services systems.

• Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment and delivering multidisciplinary projects.

• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with architects, structural, civil and electrical engineering teams.

• Experience in Data Centres, telecommunications, mission-critical facilities or other complex infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.

• Ability to apply critical thinking, technical expertise and creativity to solve complex engineering challenges.
