Job summary
SMEC (an SJ Group company) in Jakarta is seeking an experienced structural engineer with specialization in marine structures. You will perform advanced structural analysis, draft designs, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure code-compliant, safe, and efficient infrastructure for complex projects.
The role requires hands-on experience with STAAD Pro and AutoCAD, along with strong communication in English.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Ocean Engineering with a Structural focus.
- Minimum 7 years in structural design, preferably marine structures.
- Proficient in STAAD Pro and AutoCAD for design and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of design codes and materials.
- Fluent written and spoken English; SKK Ahli Madya Dermaga preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structural analysis and design using STAAD Pro.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, and specifications.
- Prepare structural sketches in AutoCAD for drafter development.
- Review structural drawings prepared by drafter.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in site visits for data collection and inspections.
- Review vendor submissions and shop drawings for structural integrity.
- Contribute to project proposals and technical documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers.
