The Vessel Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems, equipment, and controls on board the vessel. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of all electrical components and supports the overall safety and functionality of the vessel’s electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for electrical systems, machinery, and equipment onboard the vessel.
  • Identify and repair electrical faults to ensure operational safety and minimize downtime.
  • Install and upgrade electrical systems, machinery, and controls in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Support any electrical system modifications, adhering to design specifications and company protocols.
  • Keep records of any upgrades, replacements, or modifications conducted on electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with marine safety standards, electrical codes, and environmental regulations for all electrical systems and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments of all electrical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of maintenance, repairs, and inspections for the vessel’s electrical systems.
  • Prepare reports on equipment status, incidents, and inventory levels of electrical spare parts and tools.
  • Ensure timely submission of maintenance and repair records to the Chief Engineer.
